The Devil Owns The Fence

“If the Lord be God, follow Him: but if Baal, then follow him …” (1 Kings 18:21)

Man: “I’m saved, so I don’t have to fellowship with anyone.”

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching” (Hebrews 10:25).

Man: “I believe in God. But I don’t have to be talking about Him every minute of the day.”

“Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble” (James 2:19).

Jesus said “He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad” (Matthew 12:30).

Man: “So, I don’t go to church and break a few commandments once in a while. What’s the big deal?”

“So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth” (Revelation 3:16).

Man: “I’ll have a beer and watch a movie or play video games occasionally. I know there’s sex and bad language, but it’s not me doing that. It’s the actors.”

“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you” (2 Corinthians 6:17).

Man: “I’m busy every day. I said some words one time and was baptized in a church as a kid so I’m forgiven. God knows.”

“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” (2 Corinthians 13:5).

Friend: In simple terms you are “riding the fence.” Did you know that satan owns the fence you are sitting on? You belong to him. You can’t have it both ways. You are on one side or the other. Choose what side of the fence you want to be on.

“… Choose you this day whom ye will serve … but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15).
